FROM THE CEO

Happy Summer everyone!

It seems the older you get the later summer comes and the faster it ends…so let’s all enjoy as much as we can because in our industry summer is a time of crazy. I see this issue is focused all around security and safety, ranging anywhere from cyber security to just plain locking the doors of your ground support equipment. Being so new to the industry and a little unfamiliar with the standards for securing ground support equipment, we reached out to several of our customers and asked what type of security measures they had in place for their unattended equipment. Seems the majority have designated areas where the equipment is parked when not in use. Some require badge authorization to be admitted to those areas. Most do not lock the equipment but remove the keys and chock the wheels. One customer locks the equipment, puts the key in an office AND chocks the wheels. Now that’s secure!

At Stinar we are continuously learning and innovating with daily assistance from our amazing customers. Unfortunately, we tend to hear that the industry has not innovated in decades, and some say you can only do so much with ground support equipment. I like making things efficient, different, and cool. That is why I spend most of my days on the plant floor, researching and consistently looking for ideas and solutions. I do have a question for the industry though, and honestly, I have not taken the time to delve into the IATA books so I thought I would ask here.

WHY does everything have to be white? We have a graphics department that is just dying to take on the challenge of making a piece of ground support equipment a WOW artistically. So, if you have the answer to why everything is plain white, please share with me ckruckeberg@stinar.com!

So far in 2023, we have tripled our production capacity and Chrysler has kept us supplied with RAM 5500 chassis. This truck has quickly become the truck of choice. Some say it’s overkill, but for just a few thousand dollars extra, you get significantly more truck than say a RAM 3500. I have stated over and over that the industry says we are substantially higher priced than our competitors. It’s because we use OEM chassis, not a homemade single cab or no cab motorized vehicle. It’s also because our customer receives the OEM 5-year warranty in addition to Stinar’s 3-year warranty. We have quick turnaround times for POs received with the goal of having equipment ready to be mounted on a chassis and delivered within 30 days. I tell everyone, Quality, Service or Price. Pick two because all three are not a reality when it comes to ANYTHING. We pride ourselves on Quality and Service, and as we continue to supply the industry with our product, you will appreciate everything about Stinar when it comes to using our equipment.

As you work on your 2024 budgets in the coming months, feel free to reach out to myself or any of the Stinar team members for information.

Enjoy the rest of the Spring/Summer!
